The American Ismaili Scouts organization will aim to provide the Ismaili Community a scouting program focused on youth development, leadership development, nurturing as well as strengthening the moral and ethical fiber of and within our youth, and promoting a Positive Face of Islam through organized external networks and events.
The program will create a fun yet learning environment for Ismaili youths where scouts, leaders, and parents will assist one another to instill the basic principles of Islam through various activities and skills designed by Boy/Girl Scouts of America and the Aga Khan Youth and Sports Board, USA.
Cub Scouting is a year-round family program designed for boys who are in the first grade through fifth grade. Parents, leaders, and organizations work together to achieve the purposes of Cub Scouting.
Since its origin, the Scouting program has been an educational experience concerned with values. In 1910, the first activities for Scouts were designed to build character, physical fitness, practical skills, and service. These elements were part of the original Cub Scout program and continue to be part of Cub Scouting today.
Character development extends into every aspect of a boy’s life. Character development also extends into every aspect of Cub Scouting. Cub Scout leaders strive to use Cub Scouting’s 12 core values throughout all elements of the program—service projects, ceremonies, games, skits, songs, crafts, and all the other activities enjoyed at den and pack meetings and most of all ensure the boys have fun in the process!
